Founded & Directed by Rena Cokayne,  also known as Rena Reiki, “The Lyrical Life Coach,” the Founder and Director of Music Rehab Project CIC and the wider MRP artist-development ecosystem.

 

My journey has never been just music or just wellbeing. For over two decades, I’ve worked across holistic wellbeing, business, music, events and artist development, and all of those experiences have eventually come together to create what MRP is today.

 

My musical journey started in the mid-90s as a dancer in the underground UK Garage and Drum & Bass scene. I was always writing lyrics, but at the time I wasn't doing anything with them. At 19, my focus became raising my family, but the writing never really stopped.

Alongside being a mum, I built my career in holistic health and wellbeing. Since 2006, through Renaissance Wellbeing Clinic, I’ve helped people with their own personal development, mindset and wellbeing. That work also became a huge part of my own journey of self-discovery and growth with my own physical and mental health issues, most I have struggled with since childhood and still do today, however i now have an understanding of myself, i have the tools, the healing modalities and a stronger mindset, all of which i used to create the MRP framework.

In 2020, I returned to the music industry as a songwriter, lyricist and Garage MC. From there I went on to co-host a bi-weekly radio show for two years, collaborate with producers, host events and work directly with emerging artists.

​

The more I worked with independent artists, the more I started noticing the same problem.

There was talent everywhere, but the infrastructure around the talent was missing.

​

Artists knew how to make music, but many didn't understand the business behind their music, their rights, release strategy, branding, audience, direct-to-fan opportunities or how to build something sustainable around themselves as an artist.

​

I completed my BA (Hons) Music Business & Entrepreneurship at ICMP in 2026, and everything started coming together.

​

I realised artists didn't need another piece of disconnected advice. They needed the whole picture.

​

That is what I'm building with MRP.

Today, MRP brings together artist development, music business, release strategy, wellbeing, digital tools and direct-to-fan infrastructure to help independent artists develop themselves while building the business behind their music.

​

And through MRP Artist Hub, I'm taking that even further — turning what we teach into practical tools and infrastructure artists can continue using to organise, build, release, connect with fans and develop their careers beyond the classroom.

​

For me, MRP has never been about promising fame or telling artists that success happens overnight.

​

It's about giving artists knowledge, confidence, tools, structure and ownership.

​

Because I believe we need to:
